Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Identify existing set-up procedures
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
  • Identify and record internal and external set-up activities
  • Identify and record all waiting time including clean-up activities, waiting for tools, waiting for materials, waiting for instructions, waiting for approvals and operator training
  • Identify and record all adjustment times
  • Identify and record any hazards and risks from all steps in the set-up
       
Element: Analyse set-up procedures to determine opportunities for improvement
  • Analyse opportunities for conversion of internal set-up activities to external set -up activities
  • Analyse opportunities to reduce and/or eliminate adjustment times, waiting times and any hazards and risks
       
Element: Prepare recommendations for operational improvement
  • Record recommended improvements
  • Liaise with relevant people to validate recommendations

Assessment Tasks

Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
